HOW TO FIND THE MORNING ROUTINE THAT WORKS FOR YOU
You know that starting off with the right foot can drastically improve the rest of your day. But you have so many things going on in the morning, how can you fit in a morning routine that centers and energizes you?
Well, first of all, I must acknowledge that depending on your responsibilities, you may have a couple of minutes or one entire hour.
The number one question you should ask yourself in order to find the routine that works for you is:
WHAT KIND OF SPACE CAN I CREATE FOR MYSELF?
It may be a 2-minute meditation, a 5-minute gratitude journaling, a 10-minute workout listening to your favorite song, or simply 15 minutes reading a book.
I think it’s so important to start small. Don’t try to do all these things tomorrow.
Choose only one. And if you feel that it’s working and you still have 5 more minutes, add one more.

I’m going to share what works for me, so if you want you can pick one or two practices that you can incorporate in your routine.
I must admit that there are days when I only do one activity, and others when I need to skip it completely (especially when travelling), but on most days I go through this process and it really gives me energy.
MEDITATION (5 minutes)
When I first started this practice, I simply sat down and I breathed. My mind wandered very fast so I decided to give it a twist and repeat some mantras in my mind. First I repeat some empowering affirmations and then I think about three things I’m grateful for.
SMOOTHIE (10 minutes)
As soon as I finish my 5-minute meditation, I usually start to get hungry. First I have a big glass of hot water (I squeeze in some lemon) and then I prepare a smoothie or an oatmeal. Yum!
JOURNALING (10 minutes)
This is a practice that I’ve had on and off for a long time, but I’ve recently resumed it. I usually write down some affirmations and I visualize my goals as if they were already a reality in my life. It feels so good!
WALKING (30-40 minutes)
Before starting my work day, I need to move my body. I work from home, and I don’t want to spend my entire day locked in the house!
So I make sure that, as soon as I finish my mindset practice, I put on my shoes, wear my earbuds and set off on a walk.
I’m very grateful that I live by the sea, so I always have amazing views. Also, I’m a podcast fan and I take advantage of this time to listen to a podcast. If you want to know my favorite ones, check out this blog post.
As you can see, this practice takes me around 1 hour, but of course some days will take me less and other days more.
Just remember to start with these two simple questions:
How can I create a space for myself?
What’s one action I can start with tomorrow morning?
