WHY YOU SHOULD HAVE A BLOG AND PROMOTE IT ON PINTEREST
What comes to your mind when you hear the word ‘blog’?
If you’re thinking of writing about what you’re wearing or where you’re going on holiday, hold on! I’m not talking about that at all! I’m speaking about blogging about your product or service as part of your marketing strategy.
If you have a business, having a blog can be extremely useful for a lot of reasons.
1. YOU POSITION YOURSELF AS AN EXPERT IN YOUR FIELD
Writing about your topic of expertise makes you stand out from your competitors and you become the ‘go-to’ person in a specific niche. So guess where they’ll go when they need something that you offer? To you, of course!
2. YOU CAN OFFER VALUE TO MANY PEOPLE
Some of your readers may not afford your services, but you can help them anyway. Isn’t it great? Your blog can reach many people in many countries and you can offer them great value.
3. YOU IMPROVE YOUR SEO (Search Engine Optimization)
Having good keywords in many pages of your website is essential, but having keywords in your blog as well will improve your rank in Google, and you’ll be able to reach more people.
Are your creative juices already flowing?
So now let me tell you why you should promote your blog posts on Pinterest:
1. YOU CAN REACH A VERY BIG AUDIENCE FOR FREE
As I mentioned in this blog post about Pinterest Marketing, there are 250 million active users on Pinterest nowadays, how does that sound? And it’s free traffic!
2. YOUR PINS CAN LAST MONTHS
Unlike Facebook or Instagram, if your pin has good keywords and great graphics, it’s going to show up again and again, even months after you posted it! Sometimes it lasts even a couple of years, not bad at all!
3. PEOPLE ARE ALREADY SEARCHING FOR A SPECIFIC TOPIC
This is the best part: people can find your pin even if they’re not following you! How? Pinterest is a Search Engine and when a person types ‘yoga sequence’ in the search bar, for example, she already has a specific idea in her mind, so she’s likely to click to your article! If you promote your post on Instagram you could only reach people who are already following you.
With Pinterest, anyone can find you and if you’ve created a good pin they’ll click through, read your blog and get to know you, and maybe buy from you in the future!
