WAYS TO SIMPLIFY YOUR BUSINESS AND LIFE

We’ve all heard about minimalism and the positive effects it has on our lives. Today I’m going to share with you 5 ways to do less and be more productive and I’ll also tell you about my personal experience in business and life.

  1. REDUCE

Take a moment to consider what’s the best use of your time. Where are you focusing your attention on? And what are you getting back?

If you’re not seeing much return from certain activities, you shouldn’t invest your time and energy there. Now choose at least one thing that you could reduce.

For example, a few months ago I looked at the time I was spending on Instagram (it was a lot!). I decided to post less and see if it was a problem for my business. It turned out that I got more enquiries posting less, because I started to focus on quality over quantity.

2. ELIMINATE

A great way to know whether or not you should eliminate something, is to do some time tracking. Just take a look at where your hours are going and see if there’s anything you can eliminate. Maybe it’s something that you don’t really enjoy or it’s simply not the best use of your time. Maybe it’s not the best choice for your health and your energy levels.

A few years back, I noticed that drinking coffee was causing me accelerated heartbeat and I decided to eliminate it from my diet. It was a decision I took on the spot and never looked back.

I know it can be difficult, especially if you’re used to a certain habit or thing, but why not giving it a try?

3. AUTOMATE

I’m a big fan of automation. There are many things that need your action, but many can be automated. Your time is valuable and you shouldn’t waste it in little things if there are more efficient options out there.

An example from my business?
I use Tailwind to schedule all my pins, so I don’t have to manually upload every single pin every time. And Tailwind also finds the best times to post, based on when my audience is most active, so it’s a win-win!

4. SAY NO

Warren Buffett once said ‘The difference between successful people and really successful people is that really successful people say ‘no’ to almost everything’.

I know, it can be tough, especially if you’re just starting your business. But it can be a game changer!

I received emails from a couple of people asking me if I was interested in doing some tasks that were not in my zone of genius and neither was I interested in developing those kinds of skills. So I kindly said ‘no’.

The best way in this case is to say something in the lines of ‘Thanks so much for thinking of me. Unfortunately, I’m not available at the moment / I don’t offer those services. Hope you’ll find the perfect fit soon.’

You can also recommend someone else who can help them if you want!

5. OUTSOURCE

I know, outsourcing is an investment, and it’s time consuming at the beginning, but I think that it’s totally worth it. When you delegate the tasks that you’re not good at, you can drastically improve your results.

Or maybe you just know that your valuable time would be better invested in other activities, where you can express your genius and you find yourself in the flow.

For example, I really found out that shopping for groceries was taking me a lot of time, but well, we all need to eat! So I started to shop online and now I’ve got the groceries delivered at my doorstep every single week.

I’ve earned back at least two hours per week, isn’t it amazing?

So now tell me, which was your favorite way to simplify your business and life?

And which one are you going to start implementing today?

I’m curious! Let me know in the comments below!
