WHY YOUR WEBSITE NEEDS CALLS TO ACTION

If you’re building a website, you want to be strategic. You want to attract your dream customer and repel the people who are not aligned with your mission and vision.

You have to think about the customer having a journey through the site; that’s why it’s very important to begin with the end in mind.

What’s your main goal?

If you’re selling digital products for example, you want people to buy them.

Let’s see an example: let’s say you sell digital planners.

  1. A potential customer found you on Pinterest and landed on a blog post about the benefits of your product.

  2. She went to your shop page.

  3. She found a discount and signed up for your newsletter.

  4. She got into a funnel where she received some offers from you.

  5. She bought your product.

If you’re offering a service, you may want people to book a discovery call with you. Let’s say you offer yoga classes. In this case, the journey may look like this:

  1. Your potential client found you on Google and landed on a blog post.

  2. She continued to the Home page.

  3. She went to peek at your About page.

  4. She went to your services page.

  5. She clicked to your contact page and sent you an email.

  6. She booked a call with you.

What helped this customer move from one page to another?

Calls to Action!

It’s really important to make it easy for the customer to know exactly what their next step should be, so there’s no guesswork involved.

What can you do to improve your Calls To Action?

1. CALLS TO ACTION NEED TO BE VERY CLEAR

A few examples:

If I read them, I know exactly what I need to do next.

2. IDEALLY YOU WANT ONLY ONE CALL TO ACTION PER PAGE

If people are confused, they quickly click out and they may never land on your website again, so you really need to make it easy and clear.

3. INCLUDE IT IN A BUTTON

A button is a visual help that we are all used to now. If your brand includes yellow, take advantage of it and make your boxes yellow, as it’s proven to work very well.
