WHY YOU SHOULD USE PINTEREST TO PROMOTE YOUR BUSINESS

Are you promoting your business on Instagram and Facebook and you’re not sure if you should include Pinterest in your marketing strategy?

Pinterest is one of the main traffic drivers to websites nowadays.

Whether you offer services or products, I definitely think you should be on Pinterest, and here’s 5 reason why I believe you should give it a go!

  1. There are over 460 million active users on Pinterest!

Pinterest is a growing platform, every day people are looking for new ideas for their homes, and solutions for their problems. What if they could find your product or service?

It’s important to know that 70% of Pinterest users search, save and click: this means that they’re active on the platform!

2. People who use Pinterest are actively searching for something

When you scroll through Instagram or Facebook you’re probably trying to kill some time waiting for your doctor’s appointment, or maybe you’ve just finished your lunch and you’re bored.

But when you go to Pinterest, you’re already looking for something specific. You need ideas on how to decorate your daughter’s nursery, or maybe you want a great recipe to surprise your guests on Saturday night, or perhaps you’re looking for a yoga workout to relieve stress. Well, that’s exactly what happens with Pinterest. People are on the platform looking for something and you can be their solution!

3. Pinterest users are spenders

They’re ready to buy if they find what they’re looking for. 93% of active Pinners say they use Pinterest to plan for purchases. Awesome, isn’t it?

Also consider that 40% of Pinners have a household income of $100K+, so if you use Pinterest in your marketing strategy you’re going to target a lot of people who can afford what you’re offering.

4. 80% of Pinterest users are women, so this is your ideal platform if you’re selling to them

Although the number of men on Pinterest is increasing month by month, women are still the majority of users, so I’d definitely say you should promote your business on Pinterest if your ideal client is a woman!

5. More than 50% of Pinterest users live outside the US, so you can also target internationally!

Pinterest headquarters are in San Francisco and of course you’re going to target US users, but the platform is growing very fast outside the US, so you can reach customers in other countries as well!

Pro tip: if you want to target a specific area, you can use hashtags. For example if you’re a wedding photographer based in Chicago, you can add #chicagoweddingphotography to your pin description.

SO WHAT CAN PINTEREST DO FOR YOU?

If you have an e-commerce, your ideal client can find one of your products on Pinterest, click on the image and then go directly to your website where they can make a purchase!

If you have a service-based business, people on Pinterest can find a blog post you wrote, if they click they can read the post and once they’re on your website, they can find out more about who you are and the services you offer!

You can also create pins that direct to your freebie and build your email list. You can design some that link to your services or products. There are so many possibilities!
