WHAT DOES A PINTEREST MANAGER DO?
This page contains affiliate links which means I may earn a small commission if you click through and make a purchase. I only recommend tools that I use and trust.
Do you want to use Pinterest for your business?
If your ideal customer is on Pinterest and you have valuable content to share, you certainly should!
First of all, we need to remember that the main goal of Pinterest Marketing is to increase your website traffic. Pinterest is a search engine and we must consider that before starting to work on it.
Whether you want to hire a Pinterest Manager or become one, here are the main tasks of this job.
1. PINTEREST ACCOUNT CLEAN UP
It’s essential to set the right foundations for Pinterest success, including claiming your website, keyword research, creation of relevant boards, keyword-rich descriptions and so much more. If you’re just starting out, you need to set up your Pinterest account from scratch. If you’ve had it for a while, you might just need a clean up and some organization.
If you want more details about this process, you can read How I clean up a Pinterest Account as an expert Pinterest Manager.
2. PINTEREST SEO RESEARCH AND IMPLEMENTATION
Pinterest is a search engine, not a social media platform. Keywords get you found and therefore they must be an essential part of your Pinterest Marketing Strategy.
As a Pinterest Manager, I do a deep keyword research when I onboard a new client, and then apply those keywords in all relevant places.
I also do SEO research for each new piece of content, because I’ll then use those keywords in the pin description, file name, pin title and pin text overlay.
3. PINTEREST GRAPHICS CREATION
Keywords get you found, but images get you clicked!
When I get a new client, I ask them for their branding guidelines, so I can create templates and then images with their branded colors and fonts, in order to develop brand awareness. Graphics are a key element of Pinterest marketing, because they can attract the right customers for your brand.

Not too sure where to find great images and videos? I use Styled Stock Society and couldn’t be happier about their gorgeous photos!
4. TAILWIND SCHEDULING
I simply couldn’t be a Pinterest Manager without Tailwind. That’s a fact.
Tailwind allows me to schedule all my client’s content in advance, and it automatically detects the best times to post based on when their audience is more active on Pinterest. If you’re serious about marketing on Pinterest, I highly recommend having a scheduler.

5. PINTEREST ANALYTICS REPORT
My clients want to know what’s happening to their traffic to see their ROI, of course. And the best way to do so is looking at Analytics.
Every month, I gather information from Pinterest Analytics and Google Analytics to see which pins are getting more clicks and the traffic that is coming from Pinterest.
I then prepare a Pinterest Report and send it to them.
I also collect information from Pinterest Trends to give them content ideas, based on what’s popular on the platform.
6. PINTEREST ADS MANAGEMENT
Some Pinterest Managers also offer this advanced service. I personally offer it and I’ve seen great results for my clients.
There are many types of campaigns and I really enjoy planning the funnel and adjusting the campaign based on the results we’re getting along the way.
