MANUAL VS SCHEDULED PINNING

This page contains affiliate links which means I may earn a small commission if you click through and make a purchase. I only recommend tools that I use and trust.

Let me guess…you’ve heard that Pinterest is a big traffic generator, but you don’t really know how to grow your account.

Well, let me tell you the three main secrets for Pinterest success:

GREAT IMAGES First of all, Pinterest is a visual platform, so your images must be attractive, with high quality photos and clear text.

KEYWORDS Pinterest is a search engine, so it’s important to be found! The best way to do this is to have keywords in your profile, your board descriptions, your pin descriptions, and your image description. (If you want to learn more about this topic, check out this blog post about Pinterest SEO: where to find the best keywords).

CONSISTENCY Yes, on Pinterest this is the name of the game. It’s much better to pin 5 times every day than to pin 60 times on Monday and nothing the rest of the week.

In this blog post, I’m going to talk about this last point, and why scheduling pins is the best way to go.

MANUAL PINNING

At the beginning, you may want to experiment with manual pinning, which is absolutely fine. This means that you have to go to your website and then pin to your most relevant boards. You’ll also want to re-pin other people’s content (Pinterest recommends that 50% is your content and 50% content from other creators that’s relevant to your audience.)

Now, what’s the problem with this? You may wonder.

Well, you can absolutely do that, but you’ll encounter two obstacles:

-the first one is that it’s really time consuming! If you want to do it right, you should pin a few times a day, so it’s not really so efficient!

-the second issue is that you’ll never know if you’re pinning when your audience is most active.

SCHEDULED PINNING

That’s where scheduling comes in.

I love Tailwind (my go-to scheduler) and it saves me A TON OF TIME, I’m talking about a few hours every week!

Think about all the things you may work on! You schedule the content you want to have pinned ahead of time, so you don't have worry about it any more! Or better said, until the date you’ve scheduled it for :)

And then, Tailwind has many awesome features! My favorite is that you decide how many times you want to post per day and Tailwind will automatically find the times when your audience is most active. Great, isn’t it?

To make the most out of Tailwind, be sure join some Tribes, so you can share other creators’ content and get more exposure for your own website!

If you’re interested in using Tailwind, you can schedule up to 100 pins absolutely free! There’s no time limit either! Just click here to get started!

Did you enjoy this blog post? Don’t forget to pin it!
